The wait for a follow-up album from Lauryn Hill has been going on since she released the critically- and commercially-acclaimed 1998 album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Despite fits and starts, no album seems to be on the horizon. Things seemed to be set back even more when she pled guilty to tax evasion in 2012 and served three months the following year. Perhaps the time was good for her, though (in terms of her musical output, at least). While serving at Danbury, she completed a new song, "Consumerism," and released it almost in perfect timing to her release.
"Consumerism" was released on October 4 of last year, there have been no other updates on new music from Ms. Hill.
