Upcoming Album of the Week (Ending October 20, 2018)

Massive Attack are reissuing their third album, Mezzanine, to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The reissue will be available in the standard formats, CD and vinyl, but has been encoded into DNA which will be available in spray point. Someone may have finally one-upped the Flaming Lips' gummy releases. If they find an even stranger way to release their next record, be sure to check it out over at my Upcoming Releases page!

This week, Mariah Carey announced her 15th album, Caution.

I was obsessed with Carey as a child. I had all of her albums, on cassette, which I would listen to and sing along to on a daily basis. Any talent show that I participated in, I was singing one of her songs. My feelings on her music began to sour around the release of Rainbow. As I began to lose my interest in pop music, I largely stopped listening to her music.

You may have noticed a renewed interest in pop music from me. I've also had a surge of nostalgia around the music I've listened to as a child and am rediscovering my love for Mariah Carey.

She announced the latest record on Monday. The announcement was preceded by singles "GTFO" and "With You." She also released a third single, "The Distance," this week.

Caution will be released on November 16.
