Although he became best known playing Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter films, Richard had a long career in British television, movies and theatre. His most acclaimed role, perhaps, came towards the end of his career, in the play and film The History Boys, for which he won a Tony and received a BAFTA nomination. He passed away after complications from a heart surgery.
