Upcoming Album of the Week (Ending December 3)

A new president means new opportunities, especially as it relates to policy. The Recording Academy’s National Advocacy Committee took the opportunity to ask President-Elect Trump to consider reforming licensing laws to better reflect the current landscape (i.e., the rise of music streaming). Read their full appeal here.

While he has been featured on a smattering of singles and involved in other projects (including video series of MF DOOM covers last years), Bey has been fairly quiet since the release of his 2009 album, the excellent The Ecstatic.

He's focused on his acting career, with a roles in Dexter, Begin Again, and Life of Crime. His return to music is not a solo effort, he is partnering up with Ferrari Sheppard for this new album.

The album was announced on Monday and is set to come out on December 9.
