This week, The Jesus and Mary Chain announced their first album in nearly 20 years, Damage and Joy.

The Jesus and Mary Chain formed in 1983 and became one of the progenitors of shoegazing music, which gained some popularity in the years that followed. The band released six albums over a 13 years span, but broke up just a year after 1998's Munki.
In 2007, the band got back together, but spent much of the time since touring. A new album was regularly teased, being alluded to in an interview with Uncut magazine in 2008, then mentioned again by the band in 2012. The band returned to the studio last year and have now made the official announcement of that new record.
We have a new song from the band, "Amputation," to hold us over until the album's release on March 24.
Also announced this week:
Ab-Soul - DWTW (out now)
Hooray for the Riff Raff - The Navigator (March 10)
M83 - Road Blaster EP (out now)
New Order - New Order Presents Be Music (February 17)

Tim Kingsbury - Yeah You, and I (February 17)

* I'm taking these announcements with a grain of salt...
