Upcoming Album of the Week (Ending March 5)

Awards season is over and Sam Smith became the first gay person to ever win an Oscar (not really). Anyways, if you're looking for something to do until March Madness starts, check out my Upcoming Releases page and listen to some new music to pass the time!

This week, to my surprise, The Kills announced Ash & Ice, their first album in five years.

The band released Blood Pressures back in 2011, and though five years is a fairly standard amount of time to wait between albums, other projects from the members led me to assume that Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince were going to be on a pretty long break. It hasn't even been a year since The Dead Weather, of which Mosshart is a co-vocalist, released their amazing third album, Dodge & Burn.

Despite my love of The Dead Weather, The Kills remains my favorite Mosshart outlet, so I'm pretty hyped about this latest album. The band released the premier single, "Doing It to Death," and an accompanying video along with the album announcement.

Ash & Ice is set for release on June 3.
