Another band announced a new album this week, ending speculation that they may be no more. Japandroids announced their third album, Near to the Wild Heart of Life.

Silence between records is nothing new for the duo. Following the release of their debut, Post-Nothing, in 2009, they were fairly inactive until 2012's follow-up, Celebration Rock.
The gap between those two album would be nothing in comparison to the time that has passed since. They ended the Celebration Rock tour with a farewell message and went radio silent for about three years; no website updates, no performances, no news. They started touring again a couple of months ago and fan-shot videos started popping up of the band playing new music at their shows.
This proved to be in anticipation of the new record, which was announced on Monday, with the title single following a couple of days later.
Near to the Wild Heart of Life will be released on January 27.
