I have heard James Blake's name tossed around a lot in the past few weeks from all directions: Pitchfork, NPR and even indie blogs. I was skeptical because, let's face it, rarely do artists live up to all their hype. Last night, I finally decided to check out what all the excitement was about and, OMG!, I was blown away. There's a quiet power to his music, really quite beautiful. He's been referred to as "dubstep," but his music evokes, to me, Imogen Heap & Bon Iver at different points. I like.
His self-titled album drops tomorrow, but 3VOOR12 has the whole thing streaming online.
